I Hear Noises #2, Continuing to expand our horizons, with Prince

Welcome to the second edition of The Tegan and Sara Blog's new feature "I Hear Noises". If you did not catch the announcement about "I Hear Noises" make sure to read the prologue about why we are doing it here.
Also make sure to check out I Hear Noises #1 where we profiled the amazing rapper and MC, MF DOOM here. For today we would like to profile the man, the myth, the legend: Prince. Too often the media portrayal of Prince overshadows the musiscian. At his heart Prince is a BRILLIANT musician who has consistently been one of the most important American artists. If you want the whole history of Prince make sure to check out the incredible Wikipedia entry for him here. I would like to first start off with a video of one of his best songs, "I Could Never Take the Place of Your Man". It has one of the finest guitar solos I have ever heard recorded. This is from the 1988 film and now DVD "Sign O' The Times". You can watch this incredible version over at You Tube. If you like what you hear make sure to continue expanding your horizons and get some of his albums.
